About

The Community Alliance for Research and Engagement (CARE) and the Healthy Food Procurement Working Group (HFP), a committee of the Coordinated Food Assistance Network (CFAN), have been working to increase the amount of healthy foods in New Haven’s food pantries. When pantries have healthier foods stocked, people who visit the pantries are able to make healthier food choices for themselves and their families, which can lead to improved overall health!

In New Haven over 1 in 4 households struggle to afford healthy food.

37% of New Haven residents reported they received groceries or meals from a food pantry, food bank, soup kitchen, or other food assistance provider.¹ Of those people who reported food insecurity, 39% had at least one child in their household, compared to 21% of respondents without children.¹

Our goal for this campaign is to raise $2,000 by XXXX to purchase fresh produce and wholesome foods to support 4 of New Haven’s food pantries. Your donation helps food pantries go beyond canned goods and supply the kind of food every family deserves: healthy, fresh, and nourishing.
